Comprehensive Custody and Registered Plan Trustee Services

Overview

We provide registered plan trustee and custody services that are supported by an experienced relationship manager and a group of experienced legal and industry professionals.

Our team includes senior management with approximately 40 years of experience in the registered plan and custody business.

Capabilities

Registered Plan Trustee Services

We provide registered plan trustee services in compliance with the Income Tax Act (Canada). Unlike other trust companies that pay a fixed rate on cash balances, TSX Trust allows investment dealers to negotiate rates directly with financial institutions. We then place funds at the dealer's direction for a small custody fee. This arrangement provides the dealer with complete transparency on rates earned, no term contracts, control of their own treasury and better risk management.

We deliver all of this with the full support of an industry-leading registered plans team and the security of TMX Group.

RESOURCES

We provide registered plan trustee services in compliance with the Income Tax Act (Canada). This manual explains, in general terms some of the minimum administration standards that apply to registered plans and outlines TSX Trust’s policies relating to the following products:

  • Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
  • Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
  • Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA)
  • Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)

This guide summarizes the Income Tax Act Canada ("ITA") requirements, which apply to registered plans, and includes (as applicable) additional conditions outlined by the Canada Revenue Agency ("CRA").

The primary objective of this website is to provide our registered plan clients with a platform where we can collaborate and share information relating to the administration of the registered plan.
